Oscar Wilde'sIrish Pub & Whiskey Bar

Who was Oscar Wilde?

Poet, playwright, wit. Dubliner.

Oscar Wilde was born in Dublin in 1854 and died in Paris in 1900. He studied at Trinity College Dublin and at Oxford, and became one of the most celebrated writers of Victorian London.

He is remembered for his epigrams and his plays, among them Lady Windermere's Fan and The Importance of Being Earnest, and for his only novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. In 1882 he toured North America, where he is said to have drunk whiskey with miners in Leadville, Colorado.

His life ended in hardship, but his wit has outlasted everything. A pub named after him seemed the least we could do.

In his words

I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.

I can resist everything except temptation.
